New Regular Fondecyt Project: Super-networks of topological insulators.

March 21, 2019

“The great practical problem of topological insulators, that keeps them from having a relevant role in technology, is that the defects of the crystal opaque or destroy the state of topological surface. Through the geometry of super-networks we plan to overcome both problems “, explains Dr. Francisco Muñoz, who within the framework of his project Fondecyt Regular 2019 seeks to “contribute topologically protected edge states from other topologically protected edge states, through the nanometer-scale design of the material”. Dr. Muñoz is a researcher from the Simulations Research Line, and works in the Department of Physics of the University of Chile.
