CEDENNA organizes numerous outreach activities, including conferences, talks, competitions, schools, seminars and exhibitions, to present its work to the general community, generating greater interest in science among the youth of our country.
The 4th School on Nanostructures and the 1st Workshop on Nanoscience were organized in honor of Professor Francisco Claro Huneeus. The events took place in the Auditorium of the Department of Physics of the Universidad del Norte, Antofagasta, from July 20, 21 and 22, 2011.
The encounter, supported by the Center for the Development of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, CEDENNA, helped undergraduate and graduate students to attend, viewing the event as an excellent opportunity to bring together the scientific community in a pleasant environment for discussion and collaboration on nanoscience in Chile and its applications.
Presenters in the events included experts from Brazil, the United States and Argentina. As well, a number of Chilean scientists will be presenters: Pedro Landeros, Eugenio Vogel and Jorge Valdés, Researchers with the Center for the Development of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (CEDENNA), Enrique Muñoz and Miguel Calvo from the Catholic University of Valparaíso, Antonio Zárate from the Universidad Católica del Norte, Rodrigo Segura from the University of Valparaíso, Alejandro León from Diego Portales University, Soledad Bollo from the University of Chile, and Jaime Llanos from the Universidad Católica del Norte, among others.
The activity also has the support of the Universidad Católica del Norte, the Nanoscience Center of Valparaíso (CENAVA) of the Technical University Federico Santa María and the University of Valparaíso.
