In today’s edition (Monday, February 12), El Mercurio’s Revista del Campo highlights that at CEDENNA, PhD in
Plant Biology Gustavo Zúñiga has developed the production of green nanoparticles from endemic Chilean plants for use in medicine and agriculture. This innovation will be showcased at the First Nanotechnology Fair for Agriculture, to be held on Thursday, March 28, attended by government authorities and a group of leading figures from the agricultural sector.
“These nanoparticles can be used in practically every field, from medicine to agriculture. Recently we have focused on two lines, one related to agriculture, because input producers themselves have raised the need for more environmentally friendly solutions, so we started working on the concept of nanofertilizers and nanopesticides,” says Zúñiga.
