ProNano, the training workshop for high school teachers that CEDENNA has traditionally offered once a year, will have two editions this year. We will now have one edition in the first semester, already scheduled for Thursday, March 2, and another in the second semester of 2023. This is due to the many requests our center has received from various organizations, including municipalities, schools and teachers, but also in response to CEDENNA’s mission to contribute to nanoscience and nanotechnology training in the country. The March 2 session will be attended by teachers from schools in the municipalities of Estación Central and Santiago, in collaboration with both municipalities. Teachers from the regions, invited through the Explora Program, and teachers from Corporación Aprender schools, whose goal is to provide quality education in highly vulnerable sectors, will also take part. The teachers will spend the whole morning attending a series of talks by the center’s researchers. In the afternoon they will tour different laboratories to learn first-hand how nanoscience is done in Chile, even taking part in some experiments and developments together with researchers from different areas (nanoparticle synthesis, nanomedicine, nanosafety, packaging with nanotechnology, electron microscopy, etc.).
