CEDENNA won the IDeA I+D 2022 Competition (ANID-FONDEF), equivalent to a contribution of 200 million pesos for two years of research to strengthen the SIget remote monitoring system, a sensor that detects in real time the detachment of wear elements from mining shovel buckets (GETs).

This system is a long-awaited solution to one of the main production problems in the mining sector, because it damages the primary crusher and delays operations, severely affecting productivity. It therefore implies potential savings of 200 to 400 million dollars a year for Chilean production, while the international impact could reach 2 to 3 billion dollars a year.

The IDeA I+D 2022 Competition aims to support the co-financing of applied R&D projects with a strong scientific component so that they develop technologies that can become new products, processes or services, with a reasonable likelihood of generating productive, economic and social impact.
