On Friday, January 14, the closing event of the Fondef project funding the development of a sensor to detect falling wear elements (GETs) in mining was held at the CEDENNA Center. The sensor was created by research engineers from the Center’s transfer area in collaboration with the company Foremin.
Carlos Ladrix, Deputy Director of Applied Research at Chile’s National Research and Development Agency, highlighted the project’s result, which “more than meets Fondef’s and ANID’s expectations: good management and a trustworthy, high-quality partnership between CEDENNA and Foremin.” In his view, these were fundamental factors that allowed ANID, through CEDENNA, “to fulfill its purpose of building R&D bridges” in the country.
