This Thursday, January 4, you’re invited to this double, not-to-be-missed session, starting at 4:00 PM, with Drs. Claudio Acuña and David Laroze, who will take a deep dive into the 2023 Nobel Prizes in Medicine and Chemistry.
Dr. Acuña, a researcher at the Department of Biology of the Aquaculture Biotechnology Center (CBA) at USACH, will address the distinction awarded to Katalin Karikó and Drew Weissman in his talk “The Story of a Collaboration, a Vaccine, and a Nobel Prize”.
Meanwhile, Dr. Laroze, a CEDENNA researcher and full professor at the Institute for Advanced Studies of the Universidad de Tarapacá, will talk to us about the research that earned the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for Alexei Ekimov, Moungi Bawendi, and Louis Eugene Brus: for the discovery and synthesis of quantum dots, which represents a major advance in the field of nanotechnology.
Day: Thursday, January 4.
Location: Rector Eduardo Morales Santos Research Centers Building (REMS) Auditorium.
Time: 16:00
We’ll be waiting for you with coffee and cookies to liven up the enriching conversation that takes place at the end of the talk.
