The event is on Tuesday May 14, at 11:30 AM at the REMS Research Center Building Auditorium. There we will be welcomed by Dr. Sébastien Garbarino, Director of Infrastructure and Innovation at Prima Québec, an organization CEDENNA has actively taken part in since 2018 to fund collaborative research projects focused on applications in energy, mining, the environment, health, additive manufacturing, artificial intelligence, quantum technology and much more.
His talk is titled “PRIMA Québec, Materials to Move Forward. A Unique Formula for Collaboration Between Research and Industry”.
Dr. Garbarino will present in English, but all of his slides will be in Spanish.
At the end of the talk, we will share a pleasant mo
With more than 15 years of experience in materials research and development, Sébastien is an expert in the field of chemistry and advanced materials for energy conversion and storage systems.
After earning his Master’s in Organic, Analytical and Marine Environmental Chemistry from the Institut Universitaire Européen de la Mer (France) in 2002, he completed his PhD in Electrochemistry in 2007 at University College Cork (Ireland) as part of the Surface Active Sites and Exhaust Fumes European network project.
Passionate about materials structuring (meso to nano) in the field of electrocatalysis, functionalized nanoparticles, and the development of sensors and micro-supercapacitors, Dr. Garbarino completed his postdoctoral training at the Institut National de la Recherche Scientifique – Énergie Matériaux et Télécommunication (INRS-EMT in Canada).
As a research scientist, he has invented three patents and is the author of 67 publications. He has also been recognized in several innovation competitions, giving him considerable knowledge of the innovation ecosystem and funding opportunities in Quebec.
