With an event bringing together science and art, CEDENNA will open in the coming days the traveling exhibition “Images of the Nanoworld” and launch its companion book “The Amazing Nanoworld”. The event, to be held at the Planetarium, will be attended by the Minister of Culture, the Arts and Heritage, Jaime de Aguirre, and the Undersecretary of Science, Technology, Knowledge and Innovation, Carolina Gainza, as well as rectors of various universities, members of parliament and representatives of various science and culture organizations.

The completely free exhibition consists of 12 photographs that emerged from the contests CEDENNA holds among its researchers, with images of nanoparticles artistically reworked by each of them, in a magical synergy between art and science. After a few weeks at the astronomy outreach venue, the exhibition will begin a tour of different places (Santiago Metro, Mall Plaza, schools, town halls, centers, museums, etc.) so that children, young people and adults of all ages can discover the nanoworld in a more playful way.

“With this exhibition we want to contribute to the dissemination of knowledge about nanoscience and nanotechnology through the wonder and curiosity the images generate,” says CEDENNA’s director and 2019 National Prize in Exact Sciences winner, Dr. Dora Altbir.
