We had an enjoyable and interesting meeting on the impact of climate change in Antarctica and how this in turn causes worrying effects across the planet. The talk was given by Dr. Gustavo Zúñiga and with it we resumed our seminars in hybrid format.
After the opening by CEDENNA’s director, Dr. Dora Altbir, Dr. Zúñiga discussed his research on Antarctic plant species, especially mosses, which shows their great resistance to external factors such as temperature, salinity, desiccation and ultraviolet light. He also highlighted their high potential as a solution to problems in different areas, for example in agriculture.
At the end of May we look forward to seeing you at another interesting seminar, which we will announce in due course so that you can schedule it and join us at the CEDENNA Auditorium.
