The outlet Cooperativa Ciencia highlighted the work of CEDENNA as part of a national project that seeks to promote space innovation from Chile.
The initiative, led by Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez (UAI) and with the participation of the Universidad de Santiago de Chile (Usach) and CEDENNA, aims to develop advanced nanostructured coatings for nanosatellites, a true “smart protective skin” capable of reducing their weight, optimizing performance and generating savings of up to one million dollars per unit.
From CEDENNA’s laboratories, the team led by Dr. Juan Escrig contributes to the project through the development and characterization of magnetic nanofibers, using high-precision equipment to study their properties and behavior. This work represents an important step forward in the transfer of scientific knowledge to technological applications, strengthening the links between research, industry and defense.
