Dr. Juliano Casagrande Denardin , researcher at the Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (CEDENNA) and full professor at the Universidad de Santiago de Chile , has been appointed as the new director of CEDENNA, replacing Dr. Juan Escrig Murúa.

With a solid academic background, Dr. Casagrande holds a Bachelor’s degree and a PhD in Physical Sciences, and has developed an outstanding career in the study of nanomaterials and magnetism. His line of research focuses on developing magnetic nanostructures with applications in heavy metal decontamination, sensors and nanobiomedicine.

In his new role, Dr. Casagrande has expressed his commitment to strengthening the Center’s visibility, promoting new collaborations with national and international researchers, and boosting the technological services CEDENNA offers. His goal is to consolidate the Center as a benchmark in nanoscience and nanotechnology both in Chile and abroad.

At CEDENNA we thank Dr. Juan Escrig Murúa for his valuable leadership of the Center and extend our warmest welcome to Dr. Casagrande in this new stage.
