Professor Cristián Vilos, a Biotechnology specialist and director of CEDENNA’s Nanobiomedicine line, held a challenging dialogue with students from Colegio Verbo Divino, who contacted our center to learn more about the search for nanoparticle-based therapeutic strategies against cancer.
“I see no future without the development of nanomedicine from a therapeutic point of view, since science is moving towards personalized medicine,” Dr. Vilos explained to his audience, who asked insistent questions about the scope of this line of research and its future prospects.
“More important than encouraging students to follow a scientific path, I believe our call should be to encourage critical thinking, which will improve their performance in any professional and intellectual field,” the speaker commented.
At the end of the meeting, Professor Vilos invited the student who had taken the initiative to organize it to visit him at the laboratory where he develops Chilean nanobiomedicine, to see first-hand the instruments used to form nanoparticles carrying anticancer therapeutic agents.
