An interesting virtual talk on Nanosafety was given by Dr. Mauricio Escudey, principal investigator of the Nanosafety Unit, to researchers, academics and students at the Potosino Institute of Scientific and Technological Research, IPICYT (Mexico).

The seminar reviewed the current scenario and the issues of concern surrounding nanomaterials, from the perspective of significant development with the lowest risk, based on adequate knowledge of the characterization, properties and long-term behavior of nanoproducts.

In his talk he said the objective of CEDENNA’s Nanosafety Unit is to guarantee safety conditions for all members of the center who synthesize nanoparticles; to establish their safety from both an environmental and health standpoint; to provide certified nanosafety information to the national productive sector; to advise government bodies related to occupational health and the environment; and to ensure consumer health safety.
