Dr. Samuel Baltazar, researcher at the Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (CEDENNA), together with his team, visited Colegio Leonardo Da Vinci in Pitrufquén (Region IX) to kick off the 1st School Science and Technology Fair.

The activity, organized in collaboration with the school, had the main objective of promoting scientific culture and highlighting the benefits of science, technology and innovation, bringing this knowledge closer to the educational community. During the fair, students and teachers presented various school projects, exploring topics such as renewable energy, the environment, technology and, of course, the fascinating advances in nanoscience and nanotechnology.

Dr. Baltazar gave attendees an introductory talk on the basic principles of nanoscience and its applications in everyday life, sparking curiosity and interest among students. Interactive workshops were also held, allowing students to experiment with scientific concepts in a practical and fun way, reinforcing learning and creativity.

This initiative reinforces CEDENNA’s commitment to science outreach, not only in the Metropolitan Region, but also in places like Pitrufquén, promoting the training of future generations interested in contributing to the country’s scientific and technological development. With activities like this, CEDENNA seeks to inspire young people to explore the world of research, fostering scientific vocations and bringing science closer to school communities throughout Chile.
