In recent weeks, CEDENNA welcomed students from Colegio Verbo Divino and the Instituto Nacional, who took part in sessions to learn about the research carried out by the Center and its applications in different areas of everyday life.
On Tuesday, July 28, 11th and 12th grade students from Colegio Verbo Divino took part. The activity began with a talk by CEDENNA researcher and Universidad de Santiago de Chile academic Dr. Juan Escrig, who explained some of the main applications of nanotechnology in health, the environment and the development of new materials.
The students then toured the Electron Microscopy, Nanomagnetism, Nanostructure Chemistry, Nanobiomedicine and Nanosafety laboratories, where they were able to talk with members of the scientific teams and see some of the equipment used in the research.
On Tuesday, August 4, it was the turn of 10th to 12th grade students from the Instituto Nacional. During their visit they toured the Electron Microscopy, Nanosafety, Nanobiomedicine and Nanomagnetism laboratories, getting a close look at the experimental work carried out by the Center’s researchers and students.
These activities are part of CEDENNA’s community engagement and science outreach work, aimed at sparking the interest of new generations in science and showing how nanoscience and nanotechnology contribute to developing solutions to different challenges facing the country.
