With the aim of providing the fundamentals of numerical simulations, developing skills in the use of molecular dynamics software and applying different techniques to practical problems at a basic and advanced level in science and engineering, the “2nd Molecular Dynamics Workshop: Bringing Theory Closer to Experiment” will take place on June 12 and 13,
The session will be held at the Center for Graduate Studies and Continuing Education (CEPEC) of the Universidad de Santiago (Usach), located at Cruz del Sur 77, Las Condes (Escuela Militar Metro). The Workshop is aimed at undergraduate and graduate students in science and engineering interested in learning numerical simulation tools and gaining practical experience.
The academic in charge of this activity and CEDENNA researcher, Dr. Samuel Baltazar, notes that “this workshop will give all attendees a solid foundation in numerical simulations, a skill increasingly in demand in fields such as engineering, physics and chemistry. Participants will not only acquire theoretical knowledge, but will also be able to apply these concepts in practical exercises and a final project”.
The session is sponsored by CEDENNA, ANID, Usach, CIMAV (Center for Research in Advanced Materials, Mexico), Universidad Mayor and the Faculty of Engineering Sciences of the Universidad Católica del Maule.
