CEDENNA Open Lab is an innovative program that aims to create a hub of partner companies to promote research and technological development in search of innovative solutions to the challenges of the country’s different productive sectors.
One of the program’s partners is Spora Biotech, a science-based startup focused on developing solutions to improve society through biotechnology. It works with technologies based on fungal mycelium (a fungal structure resembling a root) to grow microtextures and self-generate sustainable, smart microtextiles.
Leopoldo Naranjo, Chief Scientific Officer at Spora, shares his experience on this strategic science-industry platform: “CEDENNA offered us a space to work and continue developing our cutting-edge scientific projects.” He highlights that being partners of the center has allowed them to keep deepening their research, with ongoing advice from the center’s researchers.
