The digital outlet El Mostrador highlighted the opinion column titled “The cup Chile cannot afford to lose”, written by Dr. Juan Escrig Murúa, Researcher at the Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (CEDENNA) and Full Professor at the Universidad de Santiago.
In his text, Dr. Escrig uses the World Cup as a metaphor to reflect on the importance of science, technology and long-term investment in knowledge. He points out that the real match of the 21st century is not played on a pitch, but in countries’ capacity to generate science, warning that this is the real cup that Chile cannot afford to lose.
