We Are Infinite Beings

Dr. Juan Escrig Murúa, dean of the Faculty of Science of the Universidad de Santiago de Chile and researcher at CEDENNA, recently published in CIPER a reflection titled “We are infinite beings”, in which he invites us to think about the mark each person leaves on the universe.

In his column, Dr. Escrig establishes a deep connection between science and human existence. Based on the principles of physics —such as the fact that light travels and endures over time—, he argues that every word, gesture or action we perform is projected as an echo of light that keeps traveling through the cosmos, long after our time on Earth.

“Every human gesture leaves a mark that travels through the universe. We are echoes of light that continue to exist long after our time on Earth,” writes the author.

From this perspective, Dr. Escrig invites us to live with responsibility, empathy and purpose, reminding us that what we do today will continue to be projected in time and space.

Because, as he concludes in his text, we are not fleeting beings, but infinite beings.
