In a day marked by the exchange of knowledge and the projection of innovative solutions, Dr. Khotso Mokhele, chairman of the Board of Westfalia Fruit and a prominent global figure in science and innovation, learned about some of CEDENNA’s and Laben Chile’s main nanotechnology developments in food and packaging.

During his tour, Dr. Mokhele was accompanied by Dr. Dora Altbir, executive director of CEDENNA Foundation, who led the presentation of some of the research being carried out, including:

  • High-precision sensors for detecting pesticides and fungicides.
  • Innovative technology in extrusion processes.
  • Advanced solutions in biodegradability and compostability.

The visit was also attended by Hans Eben, Chief Officer of Westfalia Fruit South America, and Daniela Dall’Orso, environmental specialist, who highlighted the potential of these innovations to transform production practices in the fruit sector, promoting a more sustainable approach.

This meeting, which included researchers from CEDENNA and LABEN Chile, reinforces the importance of alliances between science and the productive sector to move towards a more innovative future committed to sustainability.
