Two previous editions confirmed the demand. Physicians and other health professionals continue to seek training in a field that is no longer the future: nanotechnology is present in diagnostics, treatments and clinical devices, and understanding how it works makes a difference in practice.

That is why CEDENNA, in partnership with the Chilean Medical Association, is opening a new edition of the course «Nanoscience and Nanotechnology for Health Professionals», recognized as a continuing medical education activity valid for members. Those who complete it obtain 20 certified teaching hours.

The program has two levels. The first is an eight-week asynchronous theoretical module: nanoparticles for drug delivery, biosensors for early detection, regenerative medicine, theranostics and personalized medicine, and ethical and regulatory implications. The second level offers the possibility of practical work in CEDENNA’s laboratories, for those who want to take what they have learned into direct experience.

The teaching staff brings together researchers with national and international careers: Dr. Dora Altbir, National Prize for Exact Sciences winner and Director of CEDENNA; Dr. Cristian Vilos, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of the Universidad de Talca; Dr. Patricia Díaz, head of CEDENNA’s Nanobiomedicine Laboratory; Dr. Pedro Chana, Director of CETRAM and of the CEDENNA-Usach Center Program and winner of the Edmond J. Safra Fellowship; and CEDENNA researchers Dr. Samuel Baltazar and Dr. Juan Pablo García Huidobro, both Usach academics.

The course begins in the first half of August 2026. The fee is CLP 120,000 for COLMED members and CLP 150,000 for non-members. Registration and payment deadline: July 31.
