The Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (CEDENNA) announced the opening of its 2026 Special Summer Course for health professionals, in a fully flexible and asynchronousformat, designed especially for those with more availability during January and February.
This edition will allow participants to progress at their own pace, in the order and timing they find most convenient: they can complete one module per week, several in a few days, or spread them out according to their personal availability, with no fixed schedules or mandatory live sessions. Real flexibility, designed to combine high-level training with rest and summer responsibilities.
The course will be available from January 5 to February 28, 2026, during which participants will have access to all digital content, recorded classes, supplementary materials and assessments. Enrollment remains open until January 20, 2026, maintaining the preferential rates established in the agreement between CEDENNA and the Chilean Medical Association, an institution that officially recognizes this training as part of its continuing education program.
This summer edition is aimed at physicians, nurses, medical technologists, physiotherapists, nutritionists, dentists and clinical teams, who will be able to update their knowledge of nano technologies applied to health, a field that is revolutionizing diagnosis, therapy and personalized medicine globally.
Course content
The program addresses key topics such as:
-
Nanomedicine and advanced therapies
-
Nanoparticles and controlled drug release
-
Personalized medicine and theranostics
-
Nanosafety and ethical aspects
-
Current and emerging clinical applications
The training is given by CEDENNA researchers, including Dr. Dora Altbir, National Prize for Exact Sciences winner, and Dr. Pedro Chana, director of CETRAM and winner of the Edmond J. Safra Fellowship from the Michael J. Fox Foundation, integrating frontier research with concrete examples of real clinical application.

This course represents a unique opportunity nationally and in Latin America for health professionals to understand and prepare for the growing impact of nanotechnology on modern medicine, without the limitations of fixed schedules.
Optional second in-person stage
The program also includes a second stage of in-person, experimental training, to be held during the first semester of 2026 in CEDENNA’s laboratories. This hands-on session —optional and at an additional cost— will allow participants to work directly with the center’s researchers on the preparation, characterization and analysis of nanomaterials, as well as learn first-hand about the developments CEDENNA is driving in nanomedicine.
The activity will be carried out in small groups, ensuring a personalized, in-depth experience aligned with each professional’s clinical interests.
