This Wednesday, May 29, the mini course “Magnetism and Molecular-Based Materials”begins. It will be taught by two CEDENNA researchers, Drs. Diego Venegas (USACH) and Verónica Paredes (UNAB), together with an international guest: Professor Javier Campo Ruiz of the Aragón Institute of Nanoscience and Materials (INMA), a joint center of CSIC and the University of Zaragoza.

The session is aimed at undergraduate and graduate students who are not specialists in the subject. It is an excellent opportunity to expand their knowledge in one of the most innovative areas of materials science.

The initiative arises from a project of the USACH Faculty of Chemistry and Biology, USA-21991, which aims to bring international guests to the university to teach mini courses.

Javier Campo is the author of more than 170 scientific articles and principal investigator on 56 research projects. He has supervised 5 doctoral theses (with 4 more in progress) and has held several international memberships, including: vice-president of ENSA from 2009 to 2014, Spanish delegate to the ILL Steering Committee since 2008, International Advisor to the Dan Beninson Nuclear Technology Institute (Argentina) and the Global Institute for Materials Research Tohoku (Sendai, Japan), Advisor to the Management of the Argentine Neutron Beam Laboratory, President of the Spanish Committee for Large-Scale Research Infrastructures (CAIS), President of the VI-ECNS European Conference, Member of the High Committee for Science, Technology and Innovation of Aragón,

Dr. Venegas, leader of CEDENNA’s Nanostructure Chemistry Line, explains that for years he has carried out “joint work with Dr. Campo, even co-supervising a thesis for the PhD in Chemistry at the Universidad de Santiago de Chile (USACH) and in Physics at the University of Zaragoza (UNIZAR), in a dual degree program”.
