Low public and private investment in science in our country, the urgency of collective efforts to advance Nanotechnology in Chile and the proposal to form a kind of broad-based “STI council” to explore, design, implement, monitor and evaluate public STI policies are some of the topics addressed in recent days in opinion columns published in various media by Dora Altbir, director of CEDENNA, and Patricio Vargas, USM academic, CEDENNA principal investigator and Head of the Magnetic Nanostructures line. We invite you to generate opinions and proposals, one more way to highlight the challenges we face in science and to promote public policies that reflect what is needed to increase investment and progress from the State and the private sector.
