Dr. Eugenio Vogel recently published an article on seismic risk in the subduction zone off the Chilean coast.
The statistical technique used, based on information theory, was created by Prof. Vogel a decade ago in relation to magnetism and has found application in critical phenomena as diverse as financial markets, Chile’s pension system, arterial hypertension, surface physical chemistry, wind energy and, more recently, seismicity.
The work, with national and international collaborations, was published in the open access journal Natural Hazards and Earth System Sciences (Q1).
