Two-dimensional materials, made up of single layers of atoms, have attracted
great interest in basic and applied science since the exfoliation of a single
layer of graphene in 2004, an achievement that earned the 2010 Nobel Prize in Physics for
Andre Geim and Konstantin Novoselov. Their use has expanded into fields as diverse
as electronics, biomedical sensors and materials engineering. In our
next “Talking with…”, Francisco Muñoz, physicist, Associate Professor at
Universidad de Chile and researcher of the Simulations Research Group of
CEDENNA, will bring us up to date on the latest advances in this field.
