"From theory to practice: how nanotechnology can help solve the environmental water crisis". With this great theme, the 2023 season of the CEDENNA Seminar Cycle began, a day that was highly attended by researchers and students interested in knowing what Drs. Samuel Baltazar and Pamela Sepúlveda would expose on this matter that is so relevant today.

The speakers pointed out that the use of nanotechnology was born as an efficient technological proposal for various environmental problems, such as the contamination of aqueous matrices.

In this context, this seminar addressed this problem from two points of view, from theoretical physics and experimental chemistry. On the one hand, he pointed to the theoretical aspects of the optimization of specific properties of nanomaterials, and on the other to the experimental aspects in obtaining these and their application in the removal of contaminants.

Both speakers agreed on the importance of carrying out collaborative and multidisciplinary research with high-impact responses to this environmental problem.
