This innovation contributes to reducing the risk of accidents at work and benefits preventive maintenance of wear items.
In October 2022, CEDENNA (Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology located at Usach) began a new development that complements the technology concerning the SIGET monitoring system that alerts about the detachment of wear elements, reported Dr. Omar Daud, Assistant Project Manager. and Researcher of Technology Transfer of the Center.
This new project seeks that the same sensors can measure the wear suffered by the GET, in exchange for the manual measurement carried out by the miners in the pit of a mine. This innovation contributes to reducing the risk of accidents at work and benefits preventive maintenance of wear items.
It should be noted that another of the products developed by CEDENNA for the mining sector is a wireless monitoring system for the level of wear in bushings, called BWear, explained Dr. Álvaro Espejo, Director of Multidisciplinary Technology Projects.
