Magnetic Nanoparticles Treat Cancer through Hyperthermia, Without Causing Damage to Healthy Tissues
Today in the Innovation section of the newspaper El Mercurio the transcendental innovation that our Center has been developing was highlighted. It is a technology that has the potential to attack tumors and cancer cells in a highly localized and less invasive way than chemo and radiotherapy, called Magnetic Hyperthermia.
"The nanoparticles are excited, generate heat and in this way kill cancer cells," explained the researcher and head of the CEDENNA Nanomedicine and Biosensors Laboratory, Dr. Patricia Díaz.
