The Nanosecurity research team conducted training in the use of ELPI + (Electrical Low Pressure Impactor), a unique equipment in South America that Cedenna obtained thanks to the funds corresponding to the IX Fondequip Medium Scientific and Technological Equipment Contest.
It is a highly specialized instrument that will allow Chile to put itself at the forefront in the detection of atmospheric aerosols and nanoparticulate material.
The unit also makes it possible to carry out a wide range of studies, including the prevention of contamination in workers exposed to nanoparticles in different industries, as well as the scientists and researchers themselves.
The training was attended by Isel Cortés, head of the Department of Environmental Health, of the Institute of Public Health, who showed serious interest in the possibilities of ELPI +.
