We highlight the note published by Cooperativa Ciencia on the seventh chapter of "Nanos a la Obra" where CEDENNA researchers, Roberto Lavín and Daniela Alburquenque, address the impact of nanotechnological concrete and the development of advanced materials for lithium-ion batteries .
Dr. Lavín leads a project that seeks to revolutionize the construction industry through the development of nanotechnological concrete. This innovative material, which incorporates nanoadditives and plastic waste, offers a unique combination of high mechanical strength and excellent energy performance.
"Traditional construction materials face a dilemma: high resistance or good thermal insulation. Our nanotechnological concrete solves this problem, offering both characteristics in a single material," explains the director of the Institute of Basic Sciences of the Diego Portales University.
