The CETRAM Corporation (Center for Movement Disorders), chaired by CEDENNA neurologist and nanobiomedicine researcher Dr. Pedro Chaná, has been selected worldwide as one of eight academic medical centers worthy of an international scholarship for training in advanced skills in the diagnosis and treatment of Parkinson's disease (PD) and other movement disorders.
This is a monetary and educational award granted by the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research (MJFF) and whose purpose is to expand the global network of specialists in this type of pathology, supporting medical centers with the training of specialized neurologists.
The scholarship, named Edmond J. Safra in honor of the philanthropist who created it, will provide a specialist who will further improve care for patients with Parkinson's and other disorders, a task that Dr. Chaná and his CETRAM team have been addressing for years in the El Bosque commune, seeking to improve the quality of life of those affected and their families, while respecting their human rights and social reality.
"Our Center's goal is to contribute to the prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, teaching, research, and public policies related to these disorders through excellent academic and healthcare work, creating meaningful knowledge, with participatory creation, and networking," emphasized Dr. Chaná, President of the Corporation.
"We are deeply honored to have been selected by the Michael J. Fox Foundation to contribute to the consolidation of a global network of excellent physician-researchers. These highly specialized professionals will mark the beginning of a new era in patient care and research, placing them in a privileged position to accelerate progress in the field," emphasized the CEDENNA researcher.
