On July 7 and 8, the Center for Postgraduate Studies and Continuing Education of the University of Santiago (CEPEC-USACH) hosted a new version of the Molecular Dynamics Workshop: Bringing Theory to Experiment, a free and open event for undergraduate and graduate students interested in learning and applying nanomaterial simulation tools.
During two intensive days, 16 participants from five universities worked with computational tools that allow for modeling materials at the atomic scale, exploring everything from theory to virtual experimentation. The experience not only strengthened their knowledge but also fostered interdisciplinary exchange among science and technology-related programs.
From the Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, CEDENNA, Drs. Samuel Baltazar, Nicolás Plaza, Rafael González and Fernando Corvacho actively collaborated, and were able to contribute all their knowledge to bring theory closer to practice in this fundamental area for the study of materials, nanoscience and nanotechnology.
This workshop sought not only to provide theoretical knowledge but also to generate practical experience in numerical simulations, an increasingly sought-after tool in fields such as engineering, physics, and chemistry.
