The Canal 13 program Espacio 13C highlighted CEDENNA's participation in a scientific and technological research project, recently awarded through the FONDEF competition, which aims to position Chile as a key player in the space industry.
This national initiative brings together universities, research centers, the Chilean Air Force, and an international company, with the shared goal of designing advanced coatings for nanosatellites.
The project is led by a multidisciplinary team, whose deputy director is Dr. Juan Escrig, Dean of the Faculty of Science at the University of Santiago, Chile, and a researcher at CEDENNA. Regarding this, Dr. Escrig stated:
“This award represents a clear sign of the potential of national science when it is articulated around the country's strategic challenges.”
For CEDENNA, this initiative is of special importance, as it strengthens its leadership in the development of nanostructured materials with functional properties, aimed at meeting specific needs of highly technological sectors, such as the aerospace industry.
This project is a new step towards the future, driven by science and innovation developed in Chile.
