Dr. Juan Escrig Murúa, dean of the Faculty of Science at the University of Santiago, Chile and researcher at CEDENNA, recently published a reflection in CIPER entitled “We are infinite beings”, where he invites us to think about the mark that each person leaves on the universe.
In his column, Dr. Escrig establishes a profound connection between science and human existence. Starting with principles of physics—such as the fact that light travels and endures through time—he posits that every word, gesture, or action we perform is projected like an echo of light that continues traveling through the cosmos, long after our time on Earth.
“Every human gesture leaves a trace that travels through the universe. We are echoes of light that continue to exist long after our time on Earth,” the author points out.
From this perspective, Dr. Escrig invites us to live with responsibility, empathy, and purpose, reminding us that what we do today will continue to have repercussions in time and space.
Because, as he concludes in his text, we are not fleeting beings, but infinite beings.
