The Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (CEDENNA) announced the opening of its 2026 Special Summer Course for healthcare professionals. This fully flexible and asynchronous course is designed especially for those with greater availability during January and February.

This format allows participants to progress at their own pace, in the order and timeframe they deem appropriate: they can complete one module per week, several in a few days, or distribute them according to their personal availability, without fixed schedules or mandatory live sessions. This true flexibility is designed to combine high-level training with rest and the responsibilities of summer.

The course will be available from January 5 to February 28, 2026, during which time participants will have access to all digital content, recorded classes, supplementary materials, and assessments. Registration remains open until December 30, 2025, maintaining the preferential rates established in the agreement between CEDENNA and the Chilean Medical Association, the institution that officially recognizes this training as part of its continuing education program.

This summer session is geared towards physicians, nurses, medical technologists, kinesiologists, nutritionists, dentists, and clinical teams, who will be able to update their knowledge of nanotechnology applied to healthcare, a field that is revolutionizing diagnosis, therapy, and personalized medicine globally.

Course Content

The program addresses key topics such as:

  • Nanomedicine and advanced therapies
  • Nanoparticles and controlled drug release
  • Personalized medicine and theranostics
  • Nanosafety and ethical considerations
  • Current and emerging clinical applications

The training is provided by researchers from CEDENNA, including Dr. Dora Altbir, National Prize for Exact Sciences, and Dr. Pedro Chana, director of CETRAM and winner of the Edmond J. Safra Fellowship from the Michael J. Fox Foundation, integrating cutting-edge research with concrete examples of real clinical application.

Key information

  • Course availability: January 5 to February 28, 2026
  • Format: Online, asynchronous, 100% flexible
  • Pace: Self-paced
  • Fees: $90,000 for members / $120,000 for non-members
  • Registration open until: December 30, 2025

This course represents a unique opportunity at the national and Latin American levels for healthcare professionals to understand and prepare for the growing impact of nanotechnology on modern medicine, without the limitations of fixed schedules.

Optional Second In-Person Stage
The program also includes a second stage of in-person, hands-on training, which will take place during the first half of 2026 at CEDENNA's laboratories. This practical session—optional and with additional value—will allow participants to work directly with the center's researchers in the preparation, characterization, and analysis of nanomaterials, as well as gain firsthand knowledge of the developments CEDENNA is promoting in nanomedicine.

The activity will be conducted in small groups, ensuring a personalized, in-depth experience aligned with each professional's clinical interests.
