An initiative of the Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (CEDENNA) that seeks to bring cutting-edge research closer to the public through images that reveal the beauty of the nanoworld.
The competition, now a well-established platform for scientific outreach in Chile, awarded prizes to photographs obtained using advanced microscopy and simulation techniques, where scientific rigor meets visual aesthetics. First place was awarded to "Rock Art" by Pedro Chana Cuevas and Patricia Díaz Saldívar; second place to "Violeta" by Victoria Flores del Pino and Patricia Díaz Saldívar; and third place to "Heading Towards the Neural Horizon" by Fabián Araneda Martínez.
The selected works will be part of the 2026 Wall Calendar, the traveling exhibition Images of the Nanoworld and the homonymous digital book with free access, reinforcing CEDENNA's commitment to scientific dissemination, education and the link with society.
