The Researcher, Doctor in Physics and Director of technology projects multidisciplinary of the Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (CEDENNA) Dr. Álvaro Espejo Piña gave an interesting talk on “Technological Solutions of IoT for Mining” at the Finis Terrae University.

In the activity, our researcher explained how the Internet of Things (IoT) can be effectively integrated into the mining industry, contributing to optimization of your processes. In this context, he shared his experience in the development of sensors for mining machinery, focused on remote monitoring and improving operational efficiency.

A concrete example presented during the session was the application of IoT in the mining, where communication between devices and the cloud, as well as between own devices, forms a collective network that impacts both daily life as in the workplace. Although the IoT is usually associated mainly with smart homes, their application in the mining industry promises to revolutionize processes and improve the quality of life of workers.

The day ended with a question and answer session, where the Participants had the opportunity to delve into the technical details and explore the future possibilities of IoT integration in the mining world.
