The CEDENNA Foundation launches a pioneering initiative that seeks to bring cutting-edge science closer to medical practice, with the support of the Medical Association.

For the first time in Chile, healthcare professionals will be able to access specialized training in nanoscience and nanotechnology, focusing on their applications in diagnosis, treatment, and regenerative medicine. The course, organized by the CEDENNA Foundation, features the participation of leading researchers from the country.

This unprecedented initiative seeks to bridge the gap between scientific research and clinical practice by offering up-to-date tools on the impact of nanotechnology on modern medicine. The program will be delivered online, with an optional practical session, and will begin on Monday, June 16.

What does the course include?

  • Fundamentals of nanoscience and nanomedicine.
  • Applications in pharmacology, imaging, and tissue regeneration.
  • Nanosafety, professional ethics, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Clinical cases and future prospects for nanomedicine.

"Nanotechnology is already present in cancer treatments, controlled drug release, regenerative medicine, and early diagnosis, but the medical world still has limited access to this information. This course precisely seeks to reverse that situation," said Dr. Dora Altbir, 2019 National Prize Winner in Exact Sciences and Executive Director of the CEDENNA Foundation.
