Alexia Vázquez, Regional Secretary of Science, Technology, Knowledge, and Innovation for the Arica, Parinacota, and Tarapacá regions, visited the facilities of the CEDENNA Nanoscience and Nanotechnology Center to learn more about the research and developments the center is promoting in the field of nanotechnology.

During her tour, the Seremi was able to learn about the advances being made in the microscopy, plant biotechnology, nanobiomedicine, nanostructure chemistry, and nanosecurity laboratories.

During the visit, various applications of nanoparticles in key areas such as medicine, agronomy, mining, and security were discussed, highlighting their potential to address specific challenges in the northern regions of our country.

"It's key to understand this type of research, given its potential to address the challenges of our regions, the country, and the world," said the Seremi, emphasizing the possibility of establishing links that promote solutions with territorial relevance and cutting-edge science.

At the CEDENNA Center, we want to highlight these meetings, as they strengthen the connection between science and regions and allow for the development of collaborations that bring knowledge closer to the specific needs of the territories. Nanoscience and nanotechnology represent key tools for developing innovative and sustainable solutions, and in these areas, the interest of regional authorities like the Seremi opens many paths toward a more connected future.
