Today we highlight the publication of the Chilean Medical Association (Colmed) on its website about the unprecedented collaboration between the CEDENNA Foundation and the Chilean Medical Association, where the webinar “Nanotechnology for the medicine of the future: a first step towards clinical innovation” is presented, an event that will serve as an opening for the course “Nanotechnology for Medical Professionals”. The objective of this course is to bring the benefits and applications of nanotechnology closer to doctors, preparing them to face the challenges of increasingly advanced and personalized medicine.
The 40-minute webinar will take place on Thursday, December 5 at 7:00 p.m. It will be led by researchers from the Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, CEDENNA, who will explain the impact of nanotechnology on modern medicine and its practical applications. The National Award for Exact Sciences Dr. Dora Altbir, Executive Director of the CEDENNA Foundation and Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation at the Diego Portales University, will open the event with an introduction on the transformative role of nanotechnology in the medical field and its relevance for the diagnosis and treatment of complex diseases such as cancer and Alzheimer's.
Webinar Program:
- Nanotechnology in Medicine: Dr. Pedro Chana will highlight current advances and the importance of nanomaterials to improve treatments. Clinical
- Applications: Dr. Cristian Vilos will discuss specific cases of successful diagnosis and treatment using nanomedicine.
- Use of Nanomaterials in Drug Delivery: Led by Dr. Samuel Baltazar, this section will explore how nanomaterials increase the bioavailability and efficacy of drugs.
Finally, Dr. Altbir will provide details of the course that will be taught in the first semester of next year, with key information about its format, duration, and registration dates. Designed to be conducted online over a period of eight weeks, the course will delve into topics such as the development and use of nanodevices in medicine, nanoscale drug delivery systems, and the ethical and legal implications of these technologies in the medical field, among other topics.
Participation in the webinar is free and open to all healthcare professionals interested in learning how nanotechnology can transform their daily clinical practice
