Today in the special edition of Innovation of El Mercurio newspaper, the 2023 Nanotechnology fair recently held by the CEDENNA Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology was highlighted: "Beyond medicine: Chilean nanotech solutions focus on cosmetics, food, construction and mining. The newspaper El Mercurio also highlighted the advances in Technology Transfer through our developments and services, which were recently presented at the scientific exhibition to leading executives from various companies such as Copec, Enel, SQM, Codelco, Nestlé, among others.

Plastics in Soils: up to four times more than in the sea

Today in the Revista del Campo, of the El Mercurio newspaper, our Researcher Dr. Mauricio Escudey was highlighted who spoke about the problems caused by plastic nanoparticles in soils. "This issue is very complicated for a reason: there is very little information or research. When bibliographic reviews are done, for example on the subject of fertilizers, 80,000 publications are found in scientific databases. But, in nanoplastics, even In the year 2022 there were apparently 162 publications in the scientific databases and only 60 of them were papers", explained the Doctor.

Rare earths: a strategic opportunity for Chile

Last Sunday, the digital newspaper El Mostrador highlighted the opinion column of our researcher Walter Cañón.

"The extraction and development of rare earths in Chile could not only generate employment and economic development, but also boost scientific and technological research in the country. Investment in R+D+i in this specific field would open new doors to the innovation and the development of new technologies. Today, the director of the Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology and the 2019 National Prize for Exact Sciences, Dr. Dora Altbir, stood out with a Letter to the Director in the newspaper La Tercera in which she expresses her opinion on the lack of opportunities for scientific development in the country.

Today in Futuro 360, the column of the director of the Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology and the National Prize for Exact Sciences of the year 2019, Dr. Dora Altbir, was highlighted, where she expressed her opinion on the lack of opportunities for scientific development in the country. "ProNano", its north is the classroom: Teachers from Santiago and regions learn nanotechnology

In the 403 edition of the Government Education magazine, it was highlighted that different teachers from various regions of the country learn about nanoscience and nanotechnology, in order to transfer this knowledge to their students, also highlighting the importance of this science, also pointing out , which is part of the 3rd and 4th grade Curricular Bases and is taught in Chemistry subjects, within the Differential Humanist-Scientific Training plan.
