The dean of the Faculty of Sciences at the University of Santiago and CEDENNA researcher, Dr. Juan Escrig Murúa, recently published an opinion column on Radio Cooperativa, in which he analyzes in depth the impact that the convergence of nanotechnology and artificial intelligence is having on a global level.

Under the title "Nanotechnology + AI: The New Map of Power," Dr. Escrig argues that this synergy is not only transforming strategic sectors such as healthcare, energy, and the environment, but is also shaping a new geopolitics based on knowledge, data, and technological innovation.

The text highlights how this combination allows for the acceleration of research processes, the design of materials with unprecedented properties, and the ability to address complex challenges on an unprecedented scale. It also underscores the urgency for Chile to invest in its own scientific capabilities and strategic alliances that will allow it to play an active role in this silent but decisive revolution.

In this context, Dr. Escrig highlights CEDENNA's role as an interdisciplinary and interuniversity center with more than 15 years of experience, promoting excellent research, advanced training, and the transfer of technological solutions from nanoscience.

"Power is no longer measured solely in natural resources, but in the ability to generate one's own knowledge and transform it into well-being for society," the researcher notes.
