The media outlet Cooperativa Ciencia highlighted CEDENNA's work within the framework of a national project that seeks to promote space innovation from Chile.
The initiative, led by Adolfo Ibáñez University (UAI) and with the participation of the University of Santiago de Chile (Usach) and CEDENNA, aims to develop advanced nanostructured coatings for nanosatellites, a true “smart protective skin” capable of reducing their weight, optimizing performance and generating savings of up to one million dollars per unit..
From the CEDENNA laboratories, the team led by Dr. Juan Escrig is contributing to the project by developing and characterizing magnetic nanofibers, using high-precision equipment to study their properties and behavior. This work represents a significant step forward in transferring scientific knowledge to technological applications, strengthening the links between research, industry, and defense.
