Science-industry connection, the key to moving forward: CEDENNA visits the Agrosuper plant

In a meeting that highlights the synergy between the world of science and industry, a group of 12 researchers from the Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (CEDENNA) made an enriching visit to the Rosario plant of Agrosuper, located in the commune of Rengo.

The CEDENNA Center experts were received by Catalina Hernández, in charge of visits to the plant, who told the history and the most recent advances in its developments and projects. The visit provided an opportunity for the exchange of knowledge, ideas and experiences between both parties.

Students from the Salesianos Alameda School immerse themselves in the nano world

Completely enthusiastic, surprised and eager to return, the 3rd year students of the Salesianos de Alameda School visited the laboratories of the Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (CEDENNA).

After an introductory talk to the nano world, given by the Executive Director of CEDENNA Dr. Juan Escrig, the students took an unforgettable tour of the Nanosafety, Electron Microscopy, nanomagnetism, Packaging and Nanobiomedicine laboratories. In this way, creating a huge bond between students and nanotechnology.

Chile is recognized worldwide for its role in fruit growing, leading the production and export of more than 50 fruit species. At the national level, it is the second export sector after copper, contributing 39.2% to the sectoral GDP and 34% to forestry and agricultural exports. And in the face of a growing world population, it is projected that the demand for vegetables and fruits will increase by more than 50%, making it necessary to increase national productivity to maintain the competitiveness of our country.

In an exciting journey to the nano world, students of the Electromagnetism Physics course at the Autonomous University of Chile explored the fascinating field of nanoscience and nanotechnology.

CEDENNA researcher is a member of the Ministerial Advisory Commission on Quantum Technologies

This Wednesday, at the La Moneda Palace, the Ministers of the Interior and Public Security, Carolina Tohá, and of Science, Technology, Knowledge and Innovation, Aisén Etcheverry, presented the new Expert Commission on Quantum Technologies, which will have the mission of developing a report with 15 recommendations aimed at guiding public policies in this field, within a period of 120 days.

Among the eight experts that make up this advisory body, is Dr. Francisco Albarrán, researcher associated with CEDENNA and academic at the Department of Physics of the University of Santiago.

In an effort to understand and address the scientific and technological challenges facing Chile, the Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (CEDENNA) actively participated in the Workshop "Technological Challenges for Chile: Where are we going?", organized by the Universidad de la Frontera ( UFRO) in Temuco.

The event, which took place recently, focused on exploring the various challenges that the country faces in the scientific field, bringing together leading experts and professionals in the field.
