Nuestra Señora María Inmaculada School had the opportunity to visit the CEDENNA facilities, where students lived a unique educational experience. The day began with an introductory talk by Dr. Fabián Araneda, a researcher associated with CEDENNA, who immersed the young people in the fascinating world of nanotechnology. Through his presentation, students were able to understand in depth the concepts and applications that this emerging field offers for science and technology.

Researchers from the Universidad Católica del Norte visit CEDENNA

A group of researchers from the Doctorate in Mining at the Universidad Católica del Norte visited the Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, in what was a day of academic and scientific exchange.

During the tour, the experts had the opportunity to learn in detail about our facilities and laboratories, including the Electron Microscopy, Transfer, Nanostructure Chemistry and Nanomagnetism Laboratory. These spaces are key to the development of advanced research in nanotechnology and its application in various fields, especially mining.

Researchers from Chile and Mexico share experiences in the fight against emerging contaminants

The head researcher at the Advanced Materials Research Center (CIMAV) of Mexico, Dr. Alejandra García García, will be carrying out activities and work days at the Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (CEDENNA) until August 11. This, with the aim of sharing experiences and advances around the modification of nanomaterials that can be used to detect emerging contaminants, raise awareness and contribute to the generation of regulations.

Exploring the invisible world: Eindhoven University students discover the universe of nanoscience and nanotechnology

Last Friday, July 12, a group of 25 students from the Eindhoven University of Technology, in the Netherlands, had the privilege of entering the fascinating nanoworld during a special tour of the Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (CEDENNA).

The Conference began with a brief talk by the Executive Director of CEDENNA, Dr. Juan Escrig, who introduced the students to the impressive advances and applications of nanotechnology developed at CEDENNA. Next, the young explorers embarked on an exciting tour of the center's various specialized laboratories.

Last Friday, June 28, a seminar in the field of science and technology stood out, focused on the Nobel Prizes and the development of Quantum Dots. International visit highlights intense collaboration between France and Chile

Dr. Eric Le Fur, Professor at the University of Rennes (France), member of the prestigious “École”, the Higher School of Chemistry of that institution, had an intense week of work in Chile with the Cedenna-Usach researcher Dr. . Diego Venegas, with whom he has been carrying out joint research for years that is part of the scientific efforts of both countries.

Business Incubator of the University of Córdoba and CEO of the company Novosens visit CEDENNA

In an interesting meeting, Gisela Ledesma, representative of the Business Incubator of the National University of Córdoba (UNC) in Argentina, and the CEO of Novosens, Lucio Simonella, met with prominent researchers from CEDENNA and its Executive Director, Dr. . Juan Escrig.

The focus of this meeting was the ETOH biosensor, a key innovation developed by the company Novosens to accurately measure alcohol levels in wines and fermentation broths.

Students from the Elvira Hurtado de Matte School learned about nanotechnology

The 3rd and 4th year students of the Elvira Hurtado de Matte School visited the laboratories of the CEDENNA Nanoscience and Nanotechnology Center.

The activity began with an introductory talk given by the Executive Director of CEDENNA Dr. Juan Escrig and then began a journey into nanoscience. After an exciting tour, the laboratories visited were Containers, Nanostructure Chemistry, Nanobiomedicine, Nanomagnetism, Electron Microscopy and Nanosecurity, here the students were able to learn about the advances, work and developments that the CEDENNA Center is carrying out.

CEDENNA Network of Chemistry Professors of Chile sign collaboration agreement

Around a pleasant and cordial breakfast at CEDENNA, a collaboration agreement was signed between our center and the Network of Chemistry Teachers of Chile (RPQ). The representatives of the RPQ were enthusiastic and motivated with the activities and initiatives that will be generated from this agreement, which was signed by the executive director of the center, Dr. Juan Escrig Murúa, and the executive director of the CEDENNA Foundation, Dra Dora Altbir Drulinski.
