Today we want to highlight the Opinion Column published by Cooperativa carried out by the Executive Director of the Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology CEDENNA Dr. Juan Escrig.

Dr. Escrig, within the framework of the 2024 edition of the World Creativity and Innovation Day, reflects on the report of the World Innovation Index 2023, prepared by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), which has captured national attention by revealing a significant positional shift in the regional innovation landscape.

Cooperativa Ciencia highlighted on its portal that a group of CEDENNA-USACH researchers are developing nanoparticles from natural polymers, loaded with antifungal agents of botanical origin to prevent damage caused by wood fungi in fruit trees and vineyards.

Today in the online newspaper El Mostrador the innovative scientific advance being worked on within the CEDENNA Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, Green Nanoparticles, was highlighted.

These specimens come from a diversity of native and Antarctic plants. This milestone promises to transform agriculture and health, offering more efficient and sustainable solutions in pest control and the fight against multi-resistant bacteria, marking a significant step in the country's scientific innovation.

The modernization that the agricultural sector is committed to transcends social networks to also take advantage of scientific advances. Under this line, the Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (Cedenna) seeks developments and discoveries for the detection of diseases without altering the properties of vegetables and fruits.

"Nanotechnology in agriculture promises to revolutionize the way food is grown, protected and processed, thus contributing to addressing the global challenges of food security and environmental sustainability," said the president of the National Agricultural Society (SNA), Antonio Walker, after visiting the First Nanotechnology for Agriculture Fair organized by CEDENNA.

The activity was highlighted on the SNA networks: Instagram, Facebook and Linkedin.

Anasac, in its news portal, highlighted the First Nanotechnology Fair for Agriculture, which it described as "a pioneering event that brought together prominent leaders of the agricultural sector, scientists and businessmen in a space for exchange and collaboration."

In his opinion column, Dr. Samuel Baltazar, CEDENNA researcher, addresses the center's contribution to the training of teachers in nanoscience and nanotechnology, through workshops such as ProNano and the asynchronous one that is being held during the year."
