Science deserves a chance

Today, the director of the Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology and the 2019 National Prize for Exact Sciences, Dr. Dora Altbir, stood out with a Letter to the Director in the newspaper La Tercera in which she expresses her opinion on the lack of opportunities for scientific development in the country.

Today in Futuro 360, the column of the director of the Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology and the National Prize for Exact Sciences of the year 2019, Dr. Dora Altbir, was highlighted, where she expressed her opinion on the lack of opportunities for scientific development in the country. "We have not managed to get Chilean entrepreneurs and businessmen to understand and trust the relevant contribution that science makes," he reflects.

"ProNano", its north is the classroom: Teachers from Santiago and regions learn nanotechnology

In the 403 edition of the Government Education magazine, it was highlighted that different teachers from various regions of the country learn about nanoscience and nanotechnology, in order to transfer this knowledge to their students, also highlighting the importance of this science, also pointing out , which is part of the 3rd and 4th grade Curricular Bases and is taught in Chemistry subjects, within the Differential Humanist-Scientific Training plan.

Business Actors Meet to Validate UDP Technology - CEDENNA About Nanotechnology and Construction

The Office of Innovation, Development and Transfer (OIDT) convened different companies in the construction industry to early validate the patent application "Nanotechnological structural lightweight concrete". This technology was developed jointly by the Center for the Development of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (CEDENNA) and Professor Roberto Lavín, director of the Institute of Basic Sciences of the Faculty of Engineering and Sciences and director of the Research Laboratory in University Nanotechnology.

El Mostrador, a digital newspaper, highlighted on its website and social networks our Traveling Exhibition "Images of the Nanomundo" that is being held at the Bellas Artes Metro station. This exhibition has 12 photographs captured and artistically worked by researchers and students from our Center.

Remember that the exhibition will be at the Bellas Artes station from May 15 to 27!

Ciencia en Chile communication media and science news agency highlighted the traveling exhibition "Images of the Nanomundo" that is taking place at the Bellas Artes Metro station.

CEDENNA Center inaugurated exhibition "Images of the Nanomundo"

In its Sunday April 23 edition, Mercurio (Social Life), delivers a series of photographs taken at the opening of the exhibition "Images of the Nanomundo" at the Usach Planetarium. This itinerant exhibition carried out by the Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (CEDENNA) that brings together a selection of 12 photographs captured and artistically worked by researchers and students of this center.

Sensor to detect pesticides CEDENNA-INIA

In its latest edition, the Induambiente Magazine highlights the research carried out by researchers from the Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (CEDENNA) and the Institute for Agricultural Research (INIA) to measure agrochemical residues in fresh fruits and vegetables, more quickly and at a lower cost than conventional laboratory techniques. With this, monitoring could be extended to small and medium-sized farmers, helping to deliver less contaminated agricultural products to the population.

At CEDENNA, the Minister of Agriculture learned about nanotechnological applications such as pesticide sensors to improve agricultural production

The Secretary of State visited the Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, CEDENNA, to learn about valuable innovations made by researchers to contribute to the agricultural sector and improve food quality and safety.
