The University of Santiago de Chile has published the note titled "National Prize for Natural Sciences 2024 gave a conference on clean energies", which details the participation of Dr. José Zagal in the seventh Cycle of CEDENNA Seminars. This event, held in the Auditorium of the Rector Eduardo Morales Santos Research Centers Building (REMS) of the USACH, was a unique occasion for the scientific community of the university and its surroundings.

Dr. Zagal, a world leader in electrochemistry and energy conversion, with more than 200 scientific publications and author of four books, was recently awarded the 2024 National Prize for Natural Sciences. During the talk, the academic shared his more than 50 years of experience in research, having started his career at the University of Santiago in 1973, where he has been a pillar in the training of new generations of scientists.

The day, which brought together students and researchers, stood out for the active participation of the public, culminating in an enriching question and answer session, which allowed direct exchange with Dr. Zagal.

The note published by USACH also highlights the recognition that the director of CEDENNA, Dr. Juan Escrig Murúa, gave to Dr. Zagal at the close of the seminar. This gift included the book "The Amazing Nanoworld", a work that fuses science and art through images of nanoparticles captured by researchers at the center using electron microscopy.
