On Tuesday, September 5, 43 students from 1st to 4th grade from the San Pedro Poveda School in Maipú visited us.
After a welcome and introductory talk about the nano world, given by Dr. Mauricio Escudey, leader of CEDENNA's Nanosafety Line, the students took a tour of different laboratories at the center, including Nanomedicine, Electronic Microscopy, Nanomagnetism , Packaging, Nanosafety and Plant Biotechnology.
Within the framework of the CEDENNA Seminar Series, the prominent lawyer Fernando Fernández offered an interesting talk on Patent Law, aimed especially at scientists and researchers. The event took place on Thursday, August 31 and focused on providing a comprehensive understanding of patenting processes and their legal implications.

The Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, CEDENNA, will represent Chile in an interlaboratory test to be carried out among the OECD countries to determine the "Solubility and dissolution rate of nanomaterials". Last July, the Nanosafety Unit participated in a first informative meeting, in which it was indicated that prior to the development of this test, a training day must be completed that will take place in September in Schmallenberg (Germany).

By the unanimity of its members, the board of directors of the Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, CEDENNA, elected Dr. Juan Escrig Murúa as the new executive director of the institution, replacing Dr. Dora Altbir Drullinsky, who directed the Center from its inception. creation and managed to position it as the main reference for nanoscience and nanotechnology in the country.
